The PT100
WZP-231 offers a standard 2-wire, 4-20mA output signal. This is the most common
analog signal in industrial application because it is extremely resistant to electrical
noise and may be transmitted over long distances.
2. What
pressure ranges are available?
We carry
this transmitter in a wide variety of standard pressure ranges (e.g., 0-100
psi, 0-500 psi, 0-1000 psi, 0-5000 psi, etc.). See the range selector dropdown
on the product page to see all choices. Custom ranges can also be made
available upon request.
3. How
precise is this sensor?
The
standard accuracy is ±0.5% of the full-scale (F.S.) range. For instance, a
0-1000 PSI model would be accurate to ±5 PSI over its full range.
4. What
fluids or media can it measure?
This
transmitter is constructed with 316 stainless steel wetted parts and may be
used with a wide range of media including oil, water, air, natural gas,
hydraulic fluids, and many other non-clogging, non-corrosive liquids and gases.
It should not be used with highly corrosive media such as chlorine or acids
without modifying.
5. What is
the process connection type and size?
The
standard connection type is 1/2\\" NPT male thread. This is a very common
thread size in North America. Other connection options like G1/2\\" (BSPP)
or M20x1.5 are generally available.
6. What
type of power supply does it require?
4-20mA
output requires a DC power supply. Normal operating voltage is 12-36 VDC, and
the most common standard in industry is 24 VDC.
7. What is
the range of operating temperature?
The
electronics are rated for ambient operating temperature of -20°C to 85°C (-4°F
to 185°F). The temperature of the media (fluid) could be -20°C to 120°C (-4°F
to 248°F).
8. Is
waterproof and dustproof?
Yes. The
transmitter housing is IP65-rated to IEC standard. It is completely dustproof
and water-tight to low-pressure jets from any direction and can be utilized in
wash-down or out-of-doors applications.
9. How do
I calibrate or test this transmitter?
The
transmitter is already pre-calibrated to the range you purchase. Check the
output using a multimeter. The output should be 4mA at atmospheric pressure (0
PSI). The output should be 20mA at maximum-rated pressure (for instance, 1000
PSI). Calibration drifts require special equipment and are typically not done
in the field.
10. What
kind of warranty and support do I get?
We stand
behind the quality of our products with confidence. The PT100 WZP-231 is
warranted by the manufacturer to be free from defects in materials and
workmanship for a normal [e.g., 2-Year or 3-Year] period. Selection and
troubleshooting assistance are available from our technical support group.
